:: Biography ::
| Featured Works

For over 40 years artwork has dominated my life.

Since childhood my ambitions were to draw, paint, to travel overseas and to be associated with ships and the sea.

In time these elements combined and now I have works in private and corporate collections worldwide.

Whilst I am considered a marine artist and commercial shipping/port activities are of great importance, the people and villages of the Mediterranean are vital inspiration. When I’m in Italy or Greece working on a shipping commission I’m always seeking additional subjects. Now people living and working in many situations appear on canvas.

I paint using acrylics which suit the fie detail I consider necessary as I am totally committed to authenticity. Research is just as enjoyable as painting the work.

Most of my clients have more than one of my paintings and several collecting 20 or more. Some requirements are for very large works - up to 6.5 metres wide.

Over the years many of my collectors have become close friends and now I hve ongoing contact with seafarers and executives in local and overseas ports.

During research I have been privileged to visit restricted port areas and to board a most interesting variety of ships - a NATO vessel in La Spezia, customs and naval ships in Venice, icebreakers, tankers, salvage tugs and lighthouse tenders......

Exhibitions:
Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle, Hobart, Launceston, Noosa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Suva, Bahrain, with the largest being in Genova, Venice and Dubai.

The future....perhaps more Mediterranean, North Africa and within Australia.
